Negril, Jamaica – November 2015

Recently I have visited Jamaica for the second time.  I had never been to Negril, Jamaica before so this was a new experience for me.  I was looking forward to seeing 7 mile beach and all the resorts along this beautiful stretch of sand in the beautiful blue waters of the Caribbean Sea.  They say, “Once you go you know”- and yes that is so true.  I am sure I will go back to the island- the people are friendly- the Jerk chicken is amazing, the waters are

warm and the sun is plentiful.

Part of the charm of Negril is that the resorts are located so close to the beach and the water.  There are no high rise hotels that I could see from my vantage point.  Three or Four floors were the highest – and most of those do not stand taller than the trees.  With many resorts tucked in amongst the trees it makes for a more natural setting- less feeling of being commercialized than other locations in the Caribbean.

My home base was the RIU Negril which opened the day before my arrival after being completely closed for renovations for the previous three months.  I must commend the RIU Family of Hotels for this- as construction noise can be a little less than inviting and not a relaxing as some would prefer for vacation.

If you have been to the RIU Negril in the past I highly suggest that you go for another visit.  You will not recognized the place- so fresh and new- with new restaurants, buffets and rooms and bathrooms.

Even added a completely new pool at Block 2. RIU Negril is a great getaway vacation for the entire family.
